Firstly we had to sketch out a selection of a variety of a ideas for layouts onto a sheet of A3.
Then we took a selection of these ideas and made them full page A3 thumbnails, using grid/layout paper and tracing paper over the top. Using the grid underneath the tracing paper meant we could get the proportions right for the number of grids as well as the width of these grids and the gutter between them.
